Hey dear readers!
I’m just writing to let you know I’ll be gone for a few days to Dwellingup (about 1.5 hours from Perth)
Why you ask? Well, I’m a member of the Perth BurdaStyle sewing club an we’re all heading to our semi-annual Great Dwellingup Sewing Retreat! Check out our blog, to which I, and many other talented sewistas contribute to.
This is a whole weekend of sewing, some sewing and then we sew…oh yeah, and some sewing too. We mostly talk about sewing and then…you guessed it…sew.
It’ll be great.
We’ve also got a nice dinner out planned for Saturday night where we all wear a dress we’ve made. Oh man, I’m jittery already!
Here’s what I’ve got planned. I’m making an effort to sew outfits now and not orphans…so I’ve got a lovely skirt and top combo in the pipeline.
I’m making this top without the front flounce in a really beautiful cotton voile.
And this skirt, which has a frig load of panels…but is just stunning. I’m making view B, which is the shorter one; but isn’t online. Similar to the Bella pants, I love this skirt because it’s simple but not plain. I love the details of the welt pockets and the panneling…and I love the high waist, especially with a belt (in the pic from the magazine)
I’m making this from a stunning linen/tencel blend with a remarkable drape. Sure it wrinkles (cause it’s linen afterall), but I just love the hand, the cool look of the fabric and the somewhat slubby weave.
So, stay tuned for some serious sewing progress!
What are you up to this weekend? Whatever it is, remember to…….
Relax and Enjoy,
